Potty Time?

Mason is completely disinterested in potty training.  We have tried several times and have backed off when it is not working and Mason is not responding.  As of right now we are trying to "catch" him going potty.  Then suggesting sitting on the potty and once he denies us, we then take the opportunity to talk about BIG boys using the potty and trying to convince him to give it a try.  So today he started to go and I said "Mason lets go sit on the potty!"  .......And he said no (like always) then I reminded him that if he starts to go on the potty he will get a new remote control Thomas for using the potty....well that was all it took, up we ran, off the diaper came AND he SAT on the potty!!!!!!  Best part there were no tears, forcing him to sit or screaming.  OK that may not seem like a big deal but it IS!  I will take it.  It is a starting point!  Without grossing anyone out lets just say he had finished his business in the diaper but he tried and it was a GREAT effort.  As promised we decided that after his nap we would go to Target and get his new toy.

 So they ended up not having the remote control Thomas he wanted but then he saw this Shark track and was more then happy to choose this toy.

As you can see he is loving his new toy.  We even hooked it up to other tracks we have and made a little town.  Watch your feet Daddy because Mason is so proud we left it out for you to see when you wake up : ) So I know we have a long way to go and we are not planning to bribe our way through the entire process but it is a baby step that needed to happen to hopefully get this training underway!!!
